Best finance broker Australia? How to choose — and what Jokuda actually does
There isn’t one best finance broker for every Australian. The right broker is the one who can compare lenders that fit your situation — deposit, income type, credit history, loan purpose — and tell you plainly when a deal won’t work.
People searching for the best finance broker in Australia are usually checking three things:
- Can they compare more than one bank or lender?
- Are they properly licensed?
- Will they still help if a bank has already said no?
Jokuda is a licensed Australian finance broker (Australian Credit Licence 573020). We’re in Sydney at Level 57, 25 Martin Place, and we help people and small businesses with home loans, car finance, personal loans, asset finance and business lending. In some cases we can also fund smaller consumer or commercial loans under about $30,000 when the rate return makes sense.
This page covers how to choose a broker, when a broker beats going straight to a bank, and how Jokuda works — including after a policy-fit decline.
Who Jokuda is for
Jokuda suits you if you want a clear comparison across lenders, not a single-bank pitch. Common situations:
- Buying or refinancing a home in Australia (including Sydney and NSW)
- Financing a car, ute or light commercial vehicle
- Looking at a personal loan or debt consolidation that actually helps
- Funding business or asset needs (equipment, vehicles, working capital)
- A bank has said no and you suspect it’s policy fit, not “you’re done”
- You need a smaller loan under about $30k and want a straight yes/no on whether it’s worth doing
We’re not a fit if you only want a rate screenshot with no application support, or if you’re chasing a “guaranteed approval.” No broker can guarantee credit approval.
What we compare
As a broker, Jokuda’s job is to match you to lenders and products that fit the deal — not just the lowest advertised rate.
| Need | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Home loans | Owner-occupier and investment, purchase and refinance, deposit size, LVR, features (offset, redraw) |
| Car finance | New and used vehicles, personal vs business use, term and residual/balloon options where relevant |
| Personal loans | Purpose, amount, repayment capacity, consolidation where it genuinely helps |
| Asset / commercial | Equipment, vehicles, and business lending structures that match how the asset is used |
| Small loans under ~$30k | Consumer or commercial tickets where we can fund directly when the risk and return stack up |
Exact lender options depend on your application. We’ll tell you what’s realistic before you burn credit enquiries.
Licensed and accountable — ACL 573020
Jokuda Pty Ltd holds Australian Credit Licence 573020 (ABN 53 684 590 609). You can check credit licensees on ASIC’s Professional Registers Search.
That licence matters because “finance broker” isn’t a protected marketing slogan online. Licensing, responsible lending obligations, and a clear complaints path are the baseline you should expect from anyone recommending credit.

How it works
- Tell us the goal — purchase, refinance, car, personal, business, or “bank already said no.”
- We map policy fit — income type, deposit/equity, credit profile, loan size, and purpose against lender appetites.
- You get a clear read — what could work, what won’t, and why.
- Apply once the path is clear — we help package the application so you’re not guessing.
- If it’s a decline — we separate hard declines from rematchable policy mismatches and look at other lenders or structures.
You decide whether to proceed. We’ll say no to a bad fit rather than push a loan that doesn’t stack up. The same path is written up on how it works.
Broker vs going straight to the bank
| Topic | Bank / single lender | Licensed broker (Jokuda) |
|---|---|---|
| Products | That lender’s range | Multiple lenders and structures |
| If declined | Often end of the road there | Can rematch to different policy boxes |
| Advice shape | Product push for one brand | Fit across the market |
| Best when | You’re already a strong match for that bank | Your situation needs comparison or a second look |
Go direct if you already know your bank will take the deal and you’re happy with their pricing. Use a broker when you want options, a second opinion after a decline, or help working out which lender’s policy actually matches you.
Declined loans and policy fit
A bank decline isn’t always the end of the road. Plenty of declines are policy decisions: that lender’s box doesn’t fit your employment type, deposit size, property type, vehicle age, ABN age, or loan purpose — even when another lender’s might.
Jokuda helps people rematch after a policy-fit decline across home loans, car finance, personal loans and business/asset deals. The useful move is to understand why you were declined before you spray applications everywhere.
If you’ve just been knocked back, get the decline reason, then talk to a broker before the next enquiry.
Small loans under ~$30,000
Not every ticket needs a full multi-lender mortgage-style process. For smaller consumer and commercial loans under about $30k, Jokuda can sometimes fund directly when the rate return is decent and the deal is responsible.
We’ll still say so if the cost of credit doesn’t make sense for the purpose. Cheap isn’t always available; clear is better. The business-purpose version is in our guide to a small business loan under $30k.
Sydney presence, Australia-wide help
We’re based in the Sydney CBD (Martin Place) and work with clients across Australia. Being local helps with NSW property and business context; licensing and lender fit matter more than postcode for most credit decisions.
